Lamb's ears are an herbaceous, woolly, grey-white perennial. Its downy appearance is reminiscent of, surprise surprise, lamb's ears, or also rabbit's ears (hence the French name). The lower foliage grows into a rosette from which emerge a 60 cm tall flowering stem. Some gardeners cut off those stems right away for aesthetic reasons, but the nectar-rich flowers are a delight for butterflies and bees. This short plant can be elegantly integrated into floral arrangements as a ground cover or on borders, without being invasive. In Provence, it is called "main de Dieu" (God's hand) because of its wound-healing and soothing properties.

Orca beans are a bush variety known to have existed in the Caribbean about 400 years ago. The name comes from its unique black and white markings, strikingly similar to those of the aquatic mammal (Orcinus orca). The beans are harvested once the pods are fully dry. They will be a great addition to your stews or your indoor decoration!
