Black Cherry Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum)
Climbing cherry tomato, sweet, juicy, wine-red, highly productive
Climbing tomato producing numerous wine-red fruits, each just slightly smaller than a golf ball. Well balanced, sweet and tangy, this cherry tomato is one of our favorites when eaten fresh, straight from the garden. Its skin is thin and it is very juicy. We discovered this treasure one day at a seed company (Antique Edibles) during a trip to Ontario. CARE AND OTHER CONSIDERATIONS: Gradually acclimate the plants to outdoor conditions about 10 days before planting by taking them outside during the day. When planting, lay the plants horizontally, gently arching the stem to encourage the leaves to grow upward.
