En 1995, un sac de 200 graines sont découvertes dans le grenier d’une maison abandonnée depuis plusieurs années à Saint-Joseph-de-Beauce, par un menuisier faisant des réparations. Les voisins ont affirmés qu’il n’y avait pas eu de potager à cette adresse depuis plus de 60 ans. Monsieur Gérard Parent, à qui elles ont été données, a tenté de les faire pousser, mais seulement trois ont germées. De ces plants proviennent toutes les Mémés de Beauce connues au Québec.
